Lingaa shoot disrupted by protesters!

Rajinikanth’s Lingaa shooting had been progressing at a brisk pace since its launch, and things were going smoothly up until very recently.
The current schedule of the film is being filmed near Hyderabad at a village called Anajpur in Ranga Reddy district. But very recently, trouble raised its head at the location, in the form of angry villagers who showed up to protest certain actions of the crew!
Lingaa-Shooting-Halted
Yes, it seems the local residents believed the crew were mixing in something chemical in the local water source as part of the filming process! Water contamination is a serious issue. Needless to say, these people were upset and quite indignant – agriculture is, by and large, the bread and butter of these areas.
But the Lingaa crew vehemently denied these allegations and argued that they had received all the necessary licences, documentation and permissions from the authorities for shooting in that location and had followed the protocol to a tee. In no way, they maintained, they did something that was outside their legal rights.
We do not know yet if the matter has been resolved but this certainly puts a damper on the film’s otherwise efficient production work.
Lingaa is being directed by K S Ravikumar and it has Rajini in dual roles. The female leads of the flick are Anushka and Sonakshi Sinha.
Maestro A R Rahman is the man behind the musical magic in the film and it is being produced by Rockline Venkatesh.
Given the last time Ravikumar and Rajini collaborated as director and actor, we had the blockbuster film Padayappa, this one is certainly a hugely anticipated one.
It’s also worth mentioning that Ravikumar penned the story for the current hit of the Superstar – the epic animated flick Kochadaiiyaan.
