Telangana government has been very strict with land encroachment in Hyderabad and has been ruthless on the encroaching parties, regardless of their stature. As part of the government's stand, part of land that was gifted decades ago to the AP Film Development Corporation was confiscated. And industry bigwigs are not in a position to salvage the Corporation's land. Even worse they are unable to say anything against the government.
Meanwhile, the government seems to be relentless after Tollywood bigwigs. When the industry came to Hyderabad, AP Government offered many subsidies including offering land at very low costs to develop industry.
Many big people bought lands here but have later used the same to construct multiplexes and even commercial business establishments. The government now wants to tag all such lands that have not been put to right use (developing industry) and confiscate. If this happens, for sure many big names will be involved, including Padmalaya Studios!
